Tropical Shaker Card

Hello bloggers!  How about this fun bottle shaker card!  This card evokes beach and seaside thoughts, but the bottle can be used as a champagne bottle or even as a soda pop bottle, let your imagination run wild!

The finished dimensions are 7" x  8 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Lovely card Sue, gorgeous. Makes me think holidays.
Crewe Trish, I'm so sorry to hear you have lost your big brother, my heartfelt sympathies to you and your Mum. He fought so hard to stay with you as long as possible. If it's any consolation he is now pain free, no more fear or disappointments, he is at peace and will live forever in your hearts. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
Maria, wherever you are, I hope you are having a good time, it's very very wet here.
June, a good result, new PC,was the upgrade consolation for having to wait or did you splash out.
Norah, I think it is the norm for the govt buildings to be either non functional or dysfunctional. Our Air Conditioning is too hot in summer and freezing in winter, nothing changes.
Maureen you are naughty, if George has to go, who will pander to your needs, give your head a shake.
Hugs to all, especially poorly and missing friends, NannaTina, special hug for you.

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, a lovely card today, great idea about the bottle being used for champagne as well.

Pam I reiterate everything you have said. No the upgrade is because they could not match like for like PC as they were al out of stock so as part of the agreement they have to provide a higher priced one. The only down side to all this fiasco is that BT have told me that as I know long have a broadband with them (I switched to Virgin 2 years ago because it was cheaper), then they will cancel the email I have had for 30 years without any notice, I have been on the phone to them constantly for the past 2 days trying to sort it out. The only way I can keep this email is if I have my broadband with them again............It is an awful way to treat their customers. I have therefore now had to open a gmail account and let everyone know, gosh it is going to take me ages and ages to sort it out. Anyway enough about me.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Morning Sue. What a vile wet cold day, more like November than June. Why you relocated from the warmth of Florida to the cold of the UK beats me lol.
So to wake up to this bright happy cheerful sample takes my mind off the outside gloom and replaced it with the lush smell of coconut sun block, the heat of the sun on my joints a long cold pina colada a good book and the sound of gentle rippling waves kissing the golden hot sands - then I woke up lol.
So I'll send on my love n hugs to help give you a bright happy day xxx

Dear Sue and Loyal Commenters,

Really, I like the bottle better without the outline. Looks more like a bottle. With the outline it looks short and fat, like something in a preschool.

Thanks for the tip on doing a soft, fluffy-cloud sky.

The Birthday Wishes words are nice, but I wonder if they convey the idea that the wishes are happy ones? Maybe, since it's not specified, that sentiment would be good for someone you don't like very much. So they can imagine you're sending wishes for a happy birthday, and you can imagine that you're sending them wishes that they start showing their age.

I was delighted and surprised to see at the papercrafting convention in Massachusetts this weekend that one of the vendors from Ohio had Creative Expressions Gilding Polish. The guy doing the demo showed how any diecut can be a mask, how one color of polish gives you, basically, a glimmer card stock, and the next color over a die cut used as a mask will completely hide the first color, except where the mask was. So if you use coordinating colors, you get a lovely effect. Also, the die cut used as a mask ends up in the second color. And he showed how you can ink a stamp with the polish, backgrounds as well as words. Of course I got lots of colors. One woman in my group described that demo as the shoe-polish stuff.

I saw several vendors that seemed to have copied some of Sue's dies, especially the window/door and the tree with the tire swing.

Spellbinders still doesn't have dies as graceful as Sue's, but at least they've stopped expecting us to make flowers one petal at a time.

Having a really good time with my friends being delighted by dies, stamps, samples and colors until my feet hurt so much they wouldn't let my eyes keep looking was so enjoyable that I forgot I've been anxious and angry and my will to live was getting sapped. It all came back to me at work Monday, though.

Oh well, as someone at work once said, that's why they call it work.

Crewe Trish, so sorry about your brother. Sending you love that I hope will add to all the love that everyone sends so that you can float on it through this terrible time. As my psychiatrist once told me, "This is the sucky time." That actually helped. Or as I saw on Facebook, "Sometimes life gets too lifey."

I hope you will find moments to enjoy, like meeting people your brother knew who will tell you something about him that you had never heard before but that is so like him.

Love,
Donita

Pam and Elaine, I know you will never believe this but the first thing people usually say to George when they meet him for the first time is "How do you put up with her" ha ha. He wouldn't change me for the World - I have all the bank details lol.
Pam, hope the old chest is behaving.
Elaine, hope all is good with your family.
Myra, what lessons do you have today!!!
Yvonne, hope you feel livelier soon.
Laine, we miss you.
Crewe Trish, thinking of you and your family.
Donita, your conventions sounds brilliant - can we all come next year? Sorry that you have come down to earth with a bump at work. Hope the Kid is improving.
Ladies, I've spoken to Yvonne and she is fine but incredibly tired and hardly able to function. She's popping in when she can and leaving a short note. There's nothing sinister in her absence so don't worry. Her parents will be visiting this weekend which will probably give her a boost. She has spoken to Laine who she said is fine but very busy and will eventually post again.

good afternoon Sue and the happy gang of Wilsonettes,
Crikey its funny the thoughts that go through your head when you see something for the first time and today it was the song "Message in a bottle" which forgive my ignorance but i think it was the group Madness or somewhere along those lines that sung it. This card would definitely make a different postcard to send home or a lovely card for the gents in our lives that love to travel. Yes it reminds me of the dinky bottles of milk that we used to get at Primary school with a wee red straw, the only thing wrong with them was that the milkman left them outside from early in the morning from his milk float and if the sun was up and warming up, guess what else was warming up and didn't taste as good, yueck. That was when milk came in glass bottles and the cream on the top would rise in the frozen cold mornings and the silver foil lid would rise with it, or the birds would be in at it first to get the cream from the top. It was always funny when we were at my Nanas staying and watching the lazy neighbours that weren't up with the lark shooing the birds away from their bottles of milk and shaking a fist at them for taking the best bit of the milk. Thank you flower for a lovely card and my memories.
Happy Birthday Billy, i hope that you have as lovely a day as you can but no jigging with the grandchildren tonight or your body will say"nnnnooooo, please how much pain do you think i can cope with at one time". Enjoy your day flower. The first birthday cake that my daddy had was when i bought it out of the shop as i got older. I couldn't believe that he had never had a birthday cake but he was born in 1934 so perhaps it wasn't that possible. I never missed a birthday for him nor mum that they didn't have a birthday cake to mark their special day just as they marked Jim and mines.
Crewe Trish, sending you hugs and prayers flower, you and Mum are in my thoughts.x
Sending hugs to all the Wilsonettes,
Love and crafty hugs

P in Wales, thank you for kind comments about Charlie puss.
He started his life as a Feral cat. He was found near the Hospital where I worked at the time. No one wanted him so I took him home with me. You could tell he was an older kitten. I was only meant to look after him for one night. We put posters up and phoned around ect but no one ever came to claim him. He was a proper wild one, but over the years he became so calm and so loving that he got to the point where he wanted to come and curl up on my lap and have lots of cuddles !!! The staff at the vets were amazed as they said he would never reach that point as he was to wild. He was with me for about sixteen and a half years and became a real treasured member of my family. He came such a long way, from how he first started his life. When I met my other half, he moved in with me and Charlie puss had to adjust to living with his two dogs as well !!! It took a few years but Charlie puss ruled the roost in our house with the dogs and had myself and Steve wrapped around his little paws !!! They say cats have servants and I think we all were. Lots of love to you from Tres x x x
