Stork Double Day

Good Sunday morning all!  I have two simple cards to share with you today, both using the Stork and Baby die set.  For this first card, I embossed a piece of coconut white card with the Dotted Matrix Pinpoint folder for texture.  I cut a strip of decorative paper from my Classic Elegance paper pad and added it to the bottom of the card.  Out of Iris card, I used the Striped Swirl Edger and backed it in white and added it to the card where the two sections met.  I used Wisteria, Iris and white card and made two flowers from the Stitched Doodle Flowers die set and seated them on the border with some pale green leaves cut from the die set as well.  I used the Double Pierced Noble Ovals and made a base for my stork.  I cut him in white and added a wisteria hat and heart on the baby pouch cut in Iris card.  The sentiment was cut in both white and Iris and added to the left.  White, wisteria and Iris mats and layers were added to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  8 1/2" in size.  Scroll down for card number two.

Card number two has been down in Duck Egg blue and chestnut brown colour tones.  I used the same embossing folder for the background on a piece of coconut white card.  I tied a piece of  two tone organza ribbon from my stash around the bottom of the card and added a bow to the right side with a pearl embellishment.  I cut a smaller piece of Duck Egg blue card and added a border around the edge that was made by cutting the sides of the Stitched Lattice Frames down in size.  I cut the stork in white, adding a brown hat and heart to the duck egg blue baby pouch.  I cut the It's A Boy in duck egg blue and used it in Chestnut brown card  as an offset shadow.  White, duck egg and chestnut mats and layers were added to complete this card.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x  8" in size.  I hope you have enjoyed the simplicity of today's double day!  All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, these 2 samples are gorgeous I love the stork with his little postman delivery hat on carrying the baby, so cute, and the detail from the embossing on these dies are just right.

Had a great time at the groovi workshop yesterday, made some flowers, leaves, butterflies etc. all in parchment and coloured them, glittered them and picot cut them out, I used the new Cosmic Shimmer Colour Cloud Chalks oh talk about brilliant, they are ideal for parchment because they are not to wet. Then stuck them all onto little green sticks and put into a miniature bucket, was very pleased with it too.

Pam I reiterate all you have said above.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Hello Sue,
Love today's baby cards, they really are so cute and are any new parent or grandparent will adore them.
Pam pet, I'm always awake very early but I'm usually watching the news and messing about! I wouldn't try knock you of the top spot for all the tea in China. Hope the breathing is better and the ostriches are behaving themselves.
'P' how kind of you, poppy seeds would be most welcome although if they are that tall George wouldn't be able to see me - he says "send them immediately" ha ha.
Yvonne hope you have more energy today.
Laine what have you been doing to her?
Elaine hope all well with the family.
Have a good day everyone.

Hiya Sue. Oh my word, you could have been my saviour yesterday if you'd swapped samples round. Due to orders and personal stuff I'd not checked my market book to see what I was low on or out of and guess what day it is ? Yup, market day, I'd not got a single Baby Shower left ! So I've managed to get a blue, pink, lemon and mint one done plus cut the bits and mats, and border ready to make whilst there. Usually I'd flap and panic in situations like this but this while baby collection is so beautiful to use even a dumb Muppet like myself have no problem of getting designs in my brain cell and onto card ☺
So thank you for 2 adorably cute samples, but most of all Sue, thank you for creating the whole collection of these mini dies, they are not only useful in 100's of ways, but fantastic for quick cards if needed !!! I'm hoping upon hope that you have a few more of this size die, for various hobbys, interests for all ages plus work situations maybe ? Either way they are brilliant and look forward to more of these small but marvellous creations.
Sending love n hugs your way xxx

Dear Sue and All Who Sip from Her Cup of Inspiration:

Every time you use the pinpoint embossing folder, it's perfect, just as it is here. The whites came out brown, for some reason, so these cards are probably much more darling in person. Those flowers have got to be the most different from all your flowers.

Somehow I imagine that stork talking like the Vlasic Pickle character.

I'm happy to report that the cake was a strawberry bundt cake with strawberries and whipped cream. I cut a slice and made a plate, then gave it to Dotti next to me and cut a bigger slice for myself!!! Our hostess not only made a potato cheesy casserole and a broccoli slaw with sesame seeds and Ramen noodles, but she also gave us the recipes. She also made a zippered bag for my gift and stuffed it with giant candy bars. Betsy gave me three jolly balloons and Pat gave me an unmounted rubber stamp of a Christmas tree with vine leaves rather than evergreen branches. Betsy suggested adding little red birds as "ornaments."

Then we made cards, using stuff and techniques we got at the convention. My favorite was die cutting just half a flower on a fold. I could not figure how Pat did it until she showed us that you let half the die go off the edge of the base plate, so nothing presses against it and only the half that's on the plate gets cut. Ingenious!

We weren't drinking, but toward the end we got fumble-fingered and the stories got funnier until we were doubled over and gasping. Best kind of therapy there is, Pat observed.

Rosemary Powell, for my first MRI, the machine looked like a prop from a low-budget sci-fi movie from the 1950s. So I pretended I was the starlet in that movie. Some people bring their favorite music or nature sounds and listen with headphones. Seems like they could give you something to make you drowsy.

Enjoy your Sundays.

Love,
Donita

I Loved "The Striped Swirl Edger" Also "The Stitched Doodle Flowers"
Card Number Two, For A Baby Boy Just As "Beautiful" This Just Shows Us These Cutting Dies

Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

It would be totally impossible to choose a favourite between today's two little beauties...please forgive me for having forgotten just how divine the New Arrivals range is, its been a while since i have seen a sample made using them in all their cuteness and now that my memory has been suitably jolted i must make every effort to purchase them....oh yes! I didn't buy them on release despite Yvonne literally wetting herself over them, mainly because i was concentrating on the festive launch at the time so i shoved them on the back burner to deal with later. Unfortunately later was never to materialise and my stash is now missing this scrumptious collection....I don't have any call for baby themed cards but they are just so darn cute that i have persuaded myself that they are a must have now! I love the layout of both cards and both are complimented by one of my favourite EF, the dotted matrix. The colour palette on both is divine and the doodle flower is fab-u-lous!
Another day ruined by endless housework! And i am left wondering, is it all worth it? You see, my Uncle B is a typical Yorkshireman and is far less concerned about fluff on the wooden floor or dust on the sideboard than he is about a regular stream of food and beverages being at his disposal:-) He is travelling in style tomorrow, First Class on the train which suits him because he can eat and drink his own body weight on the journey for free....yes, the rumours about them being stingy are oh so true, sorry Saba:-) My Mum said he wants to take me out shopping but I'm guessing that it will only be me that puts my hand in my pocket:-)
Keeping the floors clean though, is become somewhat of a challenge this past week because Darcey and Brodie have been on the hunt big style and it has been a veritable bloodbath! Darcey isnt so much of a problem because she leaves her "present" on the doormat outside....she's a real lady and very conscientious! Brodie on the otherhand has just brought his fourth live bird in in as many days depositing it in the kitchen, feathers, bird poo, blood, you name it! Tonight's catch was a little Starling which was luckily salvaged before he could do any damage and my Mum was able to set it free:-) Unfortunately he seems to be getting too good at this killing lark, maybe we should get him a collar with a bell on it to warn the prey?.....
Donita, your craft day sounded great, glad you got treated to your cake, it sounded delish:-)
June, i am just a bit envious at all the great craft classes in your area:-) ive always fancied learning Pergamano and was very tempted by the Groovi Range, wouldn't know where to begin though:-(
Carmen, glad to see that someone is finally recognising my royal status, there are others on the blog, namely princess pixie, who take on the title without the necessary credentials or class, whereas i like to remain unassuming, always behaving with class and decorum:-) It seems that some believe themselves to be royal merely by association, maybe i am just encouraging the delusion by continuing to talk to her but every aristocrat has a charitable cause to champion and i guess that Yvonne is mine:-)
Elaine, ooh, that eye sounds sore:-) I don't know if I'd use black tea as suggested though, maybe some eye drops from the chemist might be the wisest choice:-)
Yvonne, where are you you lazy mare? What happened to all those early comments, Maureen is putting you to shame!:-)
Hugs to all my blog bestiesxxx

You're spoiling us with a two for one today. Such sweet baby cards they are perfect, Love that dotted Matrix pinpoint folder. Forgot to say yesterday, the dies I ordered last week have arrived. A couple from the Indonesian collection, Lily of The Valley, star flower cluster and dotted Daisy EF. They are all gorgeous. Now I just need to get my order off for your Christmas dies, I'll be walking the streets at this rate!

Donita it sounds like you had a brilliant time, and a scrumptious cake too. Lucky you.
Diane who are you kidding you don't need alcohol, you forget we know you!
Patricia I always have to sign in every day and then go back and press publish. I thought that was normal.
Elaine, 69 lbs! Blinking heck or should I say sacrebleu ! that's some fish hope he gets one but more importantly at that weight I hope it doesn't get him! Hope your eye is better tomorrow. Onward Christian Soldiers? I ask you, was that the best you could do, although you do realise I will be singing that all evening now!
Rosemary, how about "The bear went over the mountain" that'll keep you going all the way through! Big hugs just for you.
Myra we need suggestions for a tune for Rosemary, your good at tunes.
Lorraine I'll have you know not all true Yorkies are tight, I put a penny in a charity box only the other week! Have you parcelled up that pink jacket for me yet?

Love and hugs for,all

Hello Sue,
I'm sorry !! Late again!!
I really love this twofer today! The stork is just so cute and his hat is great! The little heart on his precious bundle is such a lovely touch too!
I love the colours you have used because they are a rather nice change from the usual! I have the It's a Boy and It's a Girl Dies and the little vest. Very cute! Very useful!
Ok in a scanner - we are suggesting singing Onward Christian Soldiers, Saying the Times Tables etc. What about going through the alphabet thinking of a girls name for each letter! Then a boys name! Then a city/ town! Then a Country - after that I'd yell let me out!!!
I do know you mustn't - though!!! Never been in one but been told they are quite noisy but you will be just fine! I have great faith in you!
If you have to sing what about Silent Night! It will be dark in there! - " all is calm!"
Diane - of course you don't!
Pat L - so pleased your husband is making progress.
Lorraine - please put a bell on the cats collar! It does warn the birds. Good to see you and in good form!
Love to all,
Myra ( Friend of Maureen!) xxx

Hello Sue and all
What a fabulous Twofer!! I have some of your other baby dies and the cards are always so well received, I have been asked to make them for friends and I know these will be just as popular.
Now, back to the Christmas dies to try again to choose what I NEED

Hi Sue,

Two lovely cards. Love the EF,it is so cute and goes so well for baby's cards.I made a few baby cards so far and I have to make at least 3 more ... all for baby girls. It a "Girl Year"around here.

Elaine - How is your eye? Did the salt water help? Hope Andrew and his friends to go for fishing to Danube Delta one day.It is like heaven there, or at least it is the way we remember. We use to go for fishing every year there, before to move to Canada. Till then I wish to Andrew to enjoy the rest of this trip. How is Helen?
Pam - Don't worry, your spot is safe.Have a great day tomorrow at work.
Donita - Looks like you really had a day to remember!
PP - Get well soon.
Princess Laine - Are your delicate hands able to do so much housework?

Hugs,
Still a newbie to Craft / not longer the newest, or the only Canadian Wilsonette

Good afternoon Sue and the Wilsonettes,
I do like chocolate with blue Sue as it just gives a soft sort of a warmth to the back layer without it being a stark black. With making the main background colour the soft coconut white, it is a beautiful card, not too hard a mix on the eyes. Your stitched flowers on the wee girls card is lovely and always reminds me of one of my favourite embroidery stitches, blanket stitch. I love the homely effect that it has on linen and material, either that are made into appliques on a quilt or on an old fashioned sampler that we sort of produced at the primary school. Unfortunately for the rest of the class they only learnt about 5 embroidery stitches tops, were as i learnt a whole variety and could make a full and detailed sampler(our teacher that they brought in to teach us to sew and knit couldn't do either so it was fun teaching a teacher how to do what she was suppose to be teaching me). In time gone past there seemed to be an awful lot of people in jobs that they knew nothing about, but that had got a job in the departments to start with so that they could get elevated up into where they wanted to be.
Thank you Sue for two really cute looking cards that are so very different from shop bought baby cards.
Love crafty hugs

Really love this card. I am sure whoever received it would put it in a frame & keep it as a treasure for the little one. Adding all the birth details would make it a keepsake to treasure
