Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hi crafters!  Today's card giveaway is the other demo card from my last shows!  I started with a piece of coconut white card and used the outer cutting edge from the Lavish Swirls Diagonal die set to cut the card for my channel.  I embossed both pieces with the Rambling Blossoms embossing folder.  Once embossed, I highlighted the flowers with Enchanted Gold gilding wax for a soft sheen.  I cut the Lavish Swirls diagonal in vintage gold card using the outer cutting edge.  I added mounting foam to both embossed pieces to raise them for dimension and create an inset channel for the card too.  I glued the Lavish Swirls diagonal down into the recessed channel I created in the card.  Using the thin edge die from the Labyrinth Diagonal, I cut two borders and added mounting foam to raise them.  I added them on either side of the channel and then finished them with a thin row of pearl strips.  I used the Rhodes die for the focal element and cut it in white card.  I backed it with Vintage gold card, then cut the centre out to create a frame.  I added mounting foam to the back.  I cut two Charming Hearts corners, nipped away the end on both to create a symmetrical corner which I glued to the left and right edges of the frame.  I used the Santorini die and cut a decorative piece for the inside of the frame.  I used the two Kefalonia die cutting edges to create a thin raised frame around the opening.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the tag from the Greek Collection Border, corner, and tag and seated it inside my frame.  I finished the card with a white mat with PVA glue dots around it, then a thin gold mat and a final white mat layer.  The finished dimensions are  7 1/2" x  9" in size.  If you would like to be included in the drawing to win this card, just leave me a comment.  The winner will be announced on Saturday's blog post.  All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue
What an elegant gift you have given us today.
Your Channel Cards are always beautiful and usually follow the 'less is more' theme and this one does exactly that.
Your colours are gentle and who wouldn't want to receive such a gift on their special day or even as a 'just because' gift.

As usual my SW space is dusted off anticipation.

We are now back to 'normal'. All sorted after our visitors and had a really good night's sleep so today is a Crafting day for me as I haven't touched any since last Thursday and there are cards to make.

To all in pain and suffering I hope your day gets better. To everyone please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

Hi Sue
Yet another beauty today, I loved this one when you demoed it on TV! I hadn't seen the double pearls before so they fell I to my JS order! I had to look closely because I thought you had added lace to the edges of the channel but no it's that pretty edge - oh dear I feel a purchase coming on but I will have to sit on my hands. I ran over a black bin bag that was floating along the road yesterday and it wrapped itself around my cars differential ( no idea either!) and it's caused £500 worth of damage so poorly car is at the garage. Think of all the dies I could have bought with that! Have a lovely day with your mum Sue.

Good morning Sue and the fabulous Wilsonettes,

What a truly stunning, elegant card for this weeks giveaway- I know your teasing me Sue, keeping me waiting in suspense, but surely this week is the week that I fill that gaping hole on my craftroom wall with a SW original:-) Back to MY card- I really enjoyed your demo and I am fortunate enough to have all of the elements bar the Labarinth die, so I can feel a recreation coming on! The inclusion of the gilding wax adds an expensive grunge look that really brings out the design of this lovely EF, and the Rhodes die just finishes the card off. It isn't often that you have a card without any flowers, ribbon or diamond sprinkles, but this card really doesn't need them.
Yeah, I have a crafting day today, Mum has kindly offered to do the housework before her dental appointment so that I can finish off my Canadian border card-she's getting her fangs removed later so she will have to avoid any solid food until she can put in her falsies:-)strictly no smiling allowed for the foreseeable and she will only venture out in the full cover of darkness!
Beth, congrats on finally finishing your garden, it's been a marathon affair and I hope that you aren't suffering as a result of your heroics-Cornwell with be a welcome rest for you and your babies, I hope that the weather smiles upon your visit, I only wish I was there with you...I've forgotten what true sunshine feels like!
Yvonne, hoping you are starting to feel brighter now-I am big enough to forgo my excellent chances of winning this weeks card for my special, sick friend...you truly deserve it this week after your struggles. And, if you are successful you may be creating a blueprint for the future success of BCAS, feigning sickness could be the answer to our cause!
Well, I'm off for a bath before I tackle my craftroom so enjoy your day everyone, sending love and healing hugs to those who need or want themxxxx can't wait till your back in Blighty Sue!

Love and crafty hugs,

Laine1972xxxxx

Lovely card today. I do like the embossing folder - which is one I do have, it is fab.

If I try this card I will have ti improvise the diagonal and topper dies, but I'm sure it will be just as beautiful as I will be using your dies.

Craftihappiness and lots of love to everyone.

Yet again stunning not sure where you come up with the ideas, though I know are nearly all variance on the same theme whilst still entirely different. It shows how versatile all your dies are... As usual thanks for sharing your beautiful ideas.

Hi Sue, Beautiful lovely card, it really is stunning, and i adored the floating sentiment one how fantastic was that. Sorry i havn't been in for a few days it has been a bit of a downer, but i have caught up with the cards from the last few day's and the stories, the one of the little one making her card it was heartwarming, a Sue in the making. I don't live far from you in Widnes. I hope Sandra got the loo problem sorted, have a nice holiday and i pray the troubles don't inconvenience you too much. well done Molly on your crafting keep going and stop fretting over the blue board just put a small shim over it, your nan will show you how so you don't have the expense of a new board. well i am nearly back up into my craft room after putting my son up for eight months, i had to move lock stock and barrel into the conservatory while he was here but OH has painted it all for me and i hope to move back up there this weekend, i have been on greatgrandma duties for two days and as i don't get asked often i didn't mind, two three year olds who where as good as gold they cheered me up greatly they were so funny. I hope you Sue are having a lovely rest with your mum recharging your batteries, Hugs to all Johanna

Hi Sue, a lovely elegant card that I remember from the TV but it is good to get the close-up pictures to see all the detail. I have since bought the diagonal die because of this card and I am using my gilding waxes much more frequently now.

Molly - I see others have already told you not to worry but I would add that I, too, have cut into my blue plate on more than one occasion just because I wasn't concentrating properly. It happens, say 'bother' and then forget about it :-)

Hi again Sue. Just wanted to add a note for Molly.
Molly, like lots of other Wilsonettes (you do realise that you are a Wilsonette now , don't you : )) have already told you, we all put a die up the wrong way sometimes, I bet your Nan has done it herself, so please don't worry, she won't think that you haven't listened to her. I wonder how many times Sue has done it? Lots of times I bet : ) My oldest granddaughter was using my machine yesterday and did the same as you and at first she was really worried but I told her not to worry and showed her where I had done the same thing! You don't need to buy a new plate, use the money to treat yourself to a new die or some pretty card or something : ) Take care. Mrs Badger x

Beautiful card. Love the gilding wax on the embossing folder and the tiny pearls along the edges of the channel.
Molly, I've just had a look at my blue plate and it's got lots of cut marks on both sides!! It doesn't seem to affect the results I get. When it first happened I felt as if the Grand Caliber police were going to pounce on me at any moment. Now I just don't worry about it.
Take care everyone.
