Special Delivery

Hi bloggers!  This one is "special delivery" for Patricia H. as she has specially requested it.  It's a kind of grown up vintage sort of baby card, but I love the way it turned out.  I picked out some vintage looking papers from my stash to use on the background and distressed the edges a bit with my scissors.  I added a panel of large newsprint paper (which was the back of the spotty paper I used.  Then I added a square of smaller newsprint which is from our Teresa Collins paper pads.  I used a bead of Cosmic Shimmer dries clear glue around it and added some Iced Snow to it.  Next I stamped the pram (from the Bundle Of Joy stamp set by Justrite) in Walnut Stain distress ink and used a wet paintbrush to pull in some of the colour to shade it a bit.  I cut it out with an oval die and added it atop a Lacy Oval die cut in blush card.  I stamped the pram again on a separate piece of milk card and coloured and cut out just the bow and added it on top of the original with some foam mounting.  I tied some flesh coloured seam binding around the card before adding my focal element, then added a messy bow to the side.  I used some natural jute twine to add a small bow on top of it then finished it with an antique button and two handmade stick pins.  I stamped my sentiment and matching frame using a coffee Archival and cut them out with the Vintage Labels Five die set from Justrite Stamps. I used Spun Sugar to highlight it slightly while still in the die.  I added it the the lower corner of my card with mounting foam.  Using the cream felt from the Blossom felt pack, I cut several small Vintage Florets flowers and layered them up.  I used Spun Sugar distress ink once again to edge the flowers to give them just a hint of colour.  The lighter colours of the felt take the ink nicely/  I added a cream flatback pearl to each of the flower centres and scattered them across my card.  I finished the card with a pearl swirl in the upper corner and a double milk mat with a pierced inner layer.  A lot going on but this one just sings to me!  I hope you like it too.  Finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x 8 1/4" in size.

The winner of the 2013 Orphan cards is:

Trudy Aylott!!!

Congratulations!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your cards!  All for now, Sue x

Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
Sorry Sue , but i do like the pram stamp and the sentiment stamp but the papers are not for me, too dark. I'm surprised by today's card as it looks like that grungy stuff a lot of the younger members of society are going for now. I think i am stuck in the pretty mode for cards.
Cameeli oh how i hope you are better soon. Drink plenty of those Lensip thingies or paracetemol. I think Sally should join you in the lemsip/paracetemol routine. About time that the loved ones that you run after all year long should be running after you both.
Carol B:- I see yo have the same problem i sometimes run up against where it goes whoops and it doesn't seem as if it has posted. I copy all that i have typed now and if it hasn't worked then i just paste it back, but i check just to make sure that it hasn't posted.
Congratulations Trudy to win your very own art gallery of Sues' cards.
See you all tomorrow hopefully,
Love and crafty hugs

Morning Sue and Wilsonettes. Hope you feel a bit better when you have another attempt of getting out of the pit ! If not just have a full duvet day with the odd hot toddie : )
would love to be in the heat of the sun today myself, it would be easier to say what joints DONT hurt, but thats life, and I HAVE to try and crawl out to my craft store as these geeky scientist who loves sport cards are keeping me awake at night and I know I 'should' find something unusual from there - famous last words ! If not, then hit the web !!
This card makes me want to 'start all over again' but at my age, I'll pass, I'll just babysit Trudy's new foster children when she needs a day out ! Well done Trudy, if its the 1st thing you have ever won, then you'll be so excited your heart will pound out of your chest, good on ya gal : )
Well lady friends must get my meds down if I stand any chance of moving today !
Sending love to our Sue (hope you feel a bit better)
And love to you all.
Hugs (Camelli from a distance)
