Best Wishes

Hello my crafty friends!  Sometimes it is just hard to resist doing a really quick card to get the creative juices revved up a bit.  This is one of those.  There really isn't too much in the way of a description that you need, but I used the larger die in the Filigree corner set by Becca Feeken for this card.  I cut it four times and overlapped them at the edges to create a pretty panel design.  I glued them into place against a bright blue card for a crisp contrast.  I stamped my sentiment on coconut white card and cut it out with the Fancy Tags two die (it is from an older set, but it is one of my favourite tag shapes).  I inked through the die with Weathered wood to create a frame for my sentiment, then mounted it in the centre of the card using foam pieces.  I finished the card with a double white pierced mat layer and some flatback pearls in the corners.  Nothing hard or tricky about this one (I hope you aren't disappointed!)  Finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x 7 1/2" in size.

And since you have read to the bottom of the post, you are probably looking to see if your name was drawn for the card giveaway! LOL

The winner this week is:
Hot Potato!!!
Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your card.  All for now, Sue x

Happy Saturday Sue and all you lovely Wilsonettes. Congratulations Hot Potato you're one lucky spud, dont be peeling away at your gift when it arrives to see how it was done, look back at the tutorial !!! : )
It kinda makes me smile when I see or hear 'quick card' no card is quick (especially with my pointless little dinky cold numb fingers) I dont think - unless you are a crafter that people realise just how much time (and stress sometimes) goes into making a card do you ? Anyone can plonk a picture onto cheap cardstock that falls over if you just think about breathing near it, stick a peel off on as a sentiment and call it 'handmade'.HA twaddle !! When it comes down to it, THESE W.O.W's we are treated to every day ARE the true handmade cards. And you Wilsonettes out there must also put hour's and hour's into making Sue cards or making something similar, so NONE of your work is quick and easy - certainly NEVER boring !!!!
Now then, when it comes down to ole Mrs Lanc ere, I cant ever make a 'quick' card, they waffle and go on and on and on - yep just like me ! Sorry to those ladies whom I annoy immensly (now you know how poor Mr Lanc feels living with me) Im always told to get to the point, then Ive forgotten what the 'point was to start with ! Anyway Sue, this W.O.W - wonder of Wilson is lush, lurve everything about it. The simplicity of it screams class.
Going back and reading comments from days gone by should make everyone's heart sing, there are SO many ladies here that would be lost without you and your blog, friends here that support, and encourage, and its such a theraputic blog Sue, Myra said it all. So thank you.
Ive still not got round to tying myself up in red strong tape, or grappled with reems of ribbon but I do intend to try those tutorials when brain, eye's and hands all decide to play nicely together ! I know what you are all sighing and thinking - how on earth does that annoying woman ever find time to craft if she's always waffling on ? I dunno, but I do : )
Sending Saturday love and sticky hugs to you all. Enjoy your day.
Off to wake Julia up now (poor woman)

Very pretty, fresh card - love it!

Rose in Chester said...

Hi Sue,
I love this card, it's so elegant. The dies are really gorgeous and very little else is needed to create a stunner like you've done. It'll work in any colour, so it's a "must do".
I suppose I'm getting there with my xmas cards, but even the small ones take a lot of time to do... As I take the "organic" approach and don't do sketches first, I don't really make best use of my GC and cut out several dies at once. I tend to cut each one singly.
Never mind, only 20+ more to do...

And then to dream up a special one for you, as a thank you for all the joy you are giving us each and every day.
Hugs, Rose

Today's gift has hit the top of my list today.
At the moment this format is my very favourite for birthday cards. It is such a wonderful format to use - it's also so surprising how different it looks using different patterned background papers and also different objects in the middle space.
So needless to say I really love today's gift and only wish someone would send me one like it on my birthday.

Hi Sue
This might be simple but it is certainly striking and elegant. Love the colours you've used but it could be done in any colourway. Will certainly be doing something similar today as I'm making up a box of cards for my aunt to give as a present - the only criteria is that they have to fit through the "slot" for posting so this should work well.

Hi Sue. A beautiful, simple but elegant card today !! This card looks so delicate with those beautiful corner dies. I love the tag die you have used in the centre of the card. Your chosen colours as always are fab !! One thing I still struggle with even now is matching colours together to look good. I often tend to make cards with two or three colours of the same shade. I know this works and I feel comfortable with it. It is putting contrasting colours together when I feel less confident as I am going out of my "comfort zone." You have helped me a great deal with this issue Sue probably without even realising it !! Thank you for all you do.
Lancashire Steph, I love reading all "your waffle" don't ever stop writing !!

Afternoon Sue,
Well I would just like to say, how do you think you could ever "Disaoppoint " us your the BEST that's why we follow you daily, you have some wonderful blog ladies whom share the same views as myself.
I'm fortunate to have this Awesome Spellbinder Die from Becca Feekan, it is just so pretty and even though it is a very intricate Die it releases quite easy.
I love the White Card and the Beautiful Blue Card you've used to accompany it, the Filigree is so pretty you don't need anything else on your card other than a Sentiment, I played around with them when they came out of Die and made some into Cone shapes added Pearls very Basic but if your "Sue" or another talented crafter you'd be able to do so much more, it takes me at least a week to create a decent card, I'm extremely critical of myself. Well done to "Hot Potato", and please "Lancashire Steph" don't stop writing I love to read your article, Sue your the "BEST" by far and will always be! Love from Sam x
